For the past 10 years, we have adopted a way of working designed to promote everyone's personal and professional fulfillment, while ensuring the fairest possible distribution of value. From day one, everyone is encouraged to take part in how MonkeyPatch operates and to be involved in all major decisions.

We are a close-knit community brought together by a shared passion for coding and software development, and we are looking for the next talented person to join us! ;)

On behalf of our clients, we provide technical expertise across a wide range of projects, including:

  • Building platforms with demanding requirements (high volumes, complex processing, performance, etc.).

  • Improving system performance.

  • Optimizing software architecture.

  • Conducting feasibility studies on emerging technologies and new use cases.

  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring development teams.

Candidate Profile

More specifically, we are looking for a Solution Architect to join our team.

The ideal candidate must be based in the Toulouse area, hold a Master's degree (or equivalent, Bac+5), and have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills / Hard Skills

We are looking for someone who enjoys designing technical architectures, tackling challenges, and bridging the gap between business needs and technology.

Strong expertise in IT solution design and architecture:

  • Analyzing functional and technical requirements.

  • Designing and evolving complex technical and application architectures.

  • Strong understanding of different architectural approaches (monolithic, microservices, distributed systems, etc.) and system integration principles.

  • Good knowledge of cloud, on-premises, and hybrid architectures.

  • Addressing security, performance, availability, and scalability requirements.

  • Identifying, assessing, and managing risks.

  • Managing and anticipating technical debt.

  • Applying software development best practices (Clean Code, Clean Architecture).

  • Supporting technical teams in implementing solutions and best practices.

  • Defining, documenting, and justifying architectural decisions.

Knowledge of the following technologies and environments would be a real plus:

  • Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP.

  • Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.

  • DevOps and automation: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform.

  • Data: SQL, NoSQL, Big Data architectures.

  • Development: Good understanding of Java, Kotlin, and TypeScript, as well as the Spring framework.

Personal Qualities / Soft Skills

Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Active listening and the ability to understand needs.

  • Curiosity.

  • Attention to detail and a thorough approach.

  • Strong analytical and summarizing skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Adaptability.

  • And everything else that makes you unique! 😉

Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process consists of three interviews, preferably conducted in person, and a short development exercise.

Here is how it works:

1. First interview: An opportunity to get to know each other, introduce ourselves, and make sure we are on the same page.

2. Technical exercise: A back-end development task to complete at home, taking no more than 4 hours. This exercise will help us assess whether your coding approach aligns with our standards.

3. Second interview: A technical discussion with two members of our technical team (two Monkeys!). This often leads to great conversations, usually starting with your technical exercise.

4. Final interview: An opportunity to review and agree on the proposed employment contract together, and go through all the administrative details.
